The Lahore High Court has extended the stay order against the decision to register a case in the alleged harassment case involving former national cricket team captain Babar Azam.
On Monday, Justice Waheed Khan of the Lahore High Court heard the petition filed by Babar Azam against the decision to register a case in the alleged harassment matter. The court extended the stay order against the case registration decision.
Barrister Haris Azmat appeared on behalf of the petitioner, Babar Azam. The court summoned the woman who had approached the authorities for case registration and adjourned further proceedings until December 12.
It is worth noting that in January 2021, the Lahore Sessions Court had directed the police to proceed in accordance with the law on a request to register a case of alleged sexual harassment against Babar Azam, a decision the former captain challenged in the Lahore High Court.
