A former goalkeeper for Saudi football club Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate has revealed that Ronaldo is interested in embracing Islam.
Speaking on a TV show, Saudi footballer Waleed Abdullah, who previously played as a goalkeeper for Al-Nassr, shared that Ronaldo has shown a deep interest in learning about Islamic teachings and Saudi Arabian culture.
Abdullah stated, “Ronaldo genuinely wants to convert to Islam. I have spoken to him about it, and he expressed his interest in the faith.”
He further mentioned that while playing for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo once performed a sajdah (prostration) on the field after scoring a goal. He also encourages players to observe prayers and follow Islamic traditions.
Abdullah added another revelation, noting that during training sessions, whenever the adhan (call to prayer) is heard, Ronaldo requests the coach to pause the session so that his teammates can perform their prayers.
