The Saudi Ministry of Sports has released the details for the 6th edition of the Saudi Dakar Rally 2025.
According to Arab media, the rally will take place from January 3 to 17, covering a total distance of 7,707 kilometers. The rally will begin in the Bisha governorate in southern Saudi Arabia, passing through the northern city of Hail, central Saudi Arabia’s Dawadmi and Riyadh, and ending near the Rub’ al Khali desert in the Shubayta region.
The announcement ceremony was attended by Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, Yvan Lemonnier, CEO of Amouri Sport, and Dakar Rally Director David Castera.
Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal said that the world’s eyes are on this global sporting event, where top rally drivers from around the world will be welcomed. He added that participants will pass through some unseen areas during this year’s event.
He emphasized that the participants will have the opportunity to witness Saudi Arabia’s spectacular natural landscapes, archaeological sites, and unique regions.
Prince Khalid also welcomed the guests attending the 2025 Saudi Dakar Rally and announced that all preparations for hosting the global event have been completed.
The event, with an exceptional version this year, will provide a new experience for Saudi youth, both men and women.
This year’s rally route consists of an initial phase and 12 stages. Starting from the Bisha governorate with an overnight camp, it will pass through Al Hanayka, Al Ula, Hail, Dawadmi, Riyadh, Haradh, and Shubayta.
The initial phase will begin on Friday, January 3, and the rally will conclude on the 12th stage on Friday, January 17.
The Dakar Rally is considered one of the most important motorsport events in the world, especially as it has been held for over four decades.
