Bollywood’s one of the most successful actors, Akshay Kumar, recently revealed how his wife, Twinkle Khanna’s blunt reaction to his film negatively impacted his career.
During an interview with Indian media, Akshay shared that he doesn’t take Twinkle to film screenings because when he does, he ends up hearing constant critiques. He explained, “If I take her, I have to watch the movie with her, and throughout, she’ll say things like, ‘Shut up!!! This scene is rubbish, this scene is awful, the climax is too long,’ and I keep hearing such comments from her during the entire movie.”
Akshay recalled the first time he took Twinkle to a film trial, where the producer asked her opinion. Twinkle reportedly called the movie “bakwas” (garbage), and after that response, the producer never worked with him again.
However, Akshay admitted that he admires Twinkle’s intellect. Whenever she likes something, she praises it openly. For instance, she really liked his film Khel Khel Mein, which wasn’t a huge hit, but Akshay considers it a personal success.
Ajay Devgn’s Response on Family Critique
Meanwhile, actor Ajay Devgn also revealed how his family, including wife Kajol and their children, react to his films. He said, “My family has a similar response to my films. Kajol and the kids are just like that. We try to upgrade ourselves with the new generation, learn from them, but when it comes to criticism, the kids do it.”
Ajay further shared a humorous take, saying that during such moments, the best invention to wear is Airpods, as they help block out all the noise and stay away from the comments.
