BAHAWALPUR: The 85th Syndicate meeting of Bahawalpur Islamic University was held at Abbasia Campus under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar.
Other members were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram Chaudhry of University of Punjab Lahore, Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad Dean Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal Dean Faculty of Management and Business, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Director Department of Chemistry Tariq Mehmood Awan Additional Secretary Punjab Department of Higher Education Division Director Shah Sawar Local Fund Multan Bushra Mehboob Chief Government Institute of Commerce Women Rahim Yar Khan Muhammad Zaman Ali Lecturer Information Technology Department and Muhammad Shaji ur Rahman Registrar and Secretary .
Various important administrative, financial, pedagogical, legal and other issues of the university were discussed and important decisions were taken. Secretary Muhammad Shaji ur Rehman presented the report on the conduct of the previous meeting.
The agenda of restructuring and integration of various teaching and administrative departments was discussed at the meeting. Syndicate members have approved fee reduction for various teaching programs on the recommendation of the fee structure committee.
The Best University Teacher Award in Bahawalpur Islamic University has been approved as per the prevailing policy of the Higher Education Commission. The recommendations from the previous meeting of the Academic Council were also approved. The meeting approved the waiver of student-owned fees for the Ehsaas Commission for Higher Education Scholarship. The annual audit report for the financial year 2020-22 under the Higher Education Act was also presented at the meeting.
