SWAT: At least 4 people including 2 police personnel and a polio worker were sustained injured due to firing by unknown persons last night at the depo check post in Barikot Tehsil of Swat District .
District Police Officer Swat Dr. Zahidullah confirmed the incident and said that firing has been reported from the front hill at the depo check post.
As a result of the firing, two policemen posted on duty at the check post, Head Constable Javed and Constable Rehmat Ali, were injured, while Afaq, a polio worker present at the spot, was also injured.
According to the police, a passer-by, Adil, has also been injured in the firing.
After the incident, the police took retaliatory action and the attackers fled.
The police have surrounded the entire area and started a search and strike operation.
The injured personnel were shifted to Barikot Hospital for immediate medical assistance. From where the policemen and a polio worker habe been referred to Saidu Teaching Hospital.
CTD Police has registered an FIR of the incident on the post of Galegay Police station, in which the unknown accused have been named. Police officials confirmed.
