ISLAMABAD: In response to Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi’s resignations, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) spokesman Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the purported conspiracy bench against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had come to an end.
Speaking to the media, Aurangzeb asserted that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had threatened the judges in the case in the past.
“Can you remove the stain on your feet by resigning?” she asked, casting doubt on the honesty of the resigning judges. Is it possible to quit and be released from all obligations?”
The spokesperson claimed that Justice Ijazul Ahsan was to blame for the nation’s inflation and that the resignations were an attempt to deflect criticism from the Supreme Court’s satire and purported abuse of power.
Aurangzeb proposed that judges who resigned might be able to gain popular forgiveness.

She claimed that people who demanded accountability back then—during a period when terms like “Godfather” and “Sicilian Mafia” were used—were now unwilling to provide an account, even for a single day. The objective behind the resignations, according to Aurangzeb, looked cowardly, and he questioned where the power that was purportedly misused had gone.
The spokesperson for the PML-N urged Nawaz Sharif to withstand pressure and reject resignations, alleging that they were a ploy to put an end to the Panama issue. Resignations, she said, were not the appropriate course of action if the accusations were unfounded.
As he wrapped off the news conference, Aurangzeb said that both sides of politics were frustrated and angry, particularly with Nawaz Sharif trying to make a run at becoming prime minister for a record-breaking fourth time. She called the resignation “cowardly” and attacked PTI’s founder for failing to address concerns about intra-party elections, implying that the party was used to pursuing outcomes through the legal system.
