SWAT: At least 4 million 49 thousand tourists visited the Swat Valley of Pakistan during the year 2023 while more than 4 thousand foreigners were also visited Swat. According to details on 26 August 2022, a significant increase was seen in the tourism of Swat valley despite the ravages of floods.
Compared to the year 2022, tourism was recorded 100 percent higher in 2023.
Director General Upper Swat Development Authority and Deputy Commissioner Swat Dr. Qasim Ali Khan while talking to the media said that in the year 2023, the arrival of 40 lacs 49 thousand tourists was recorded in the beautiful places of Swat, like Malam Jabba, Gabin Jabba, Kalam, Bahrain, Mahudand, Madyan, Marghazar.
Meanwhile, more than 4,000 foreign tourists from 107 countries including China, Australia, Afghanistan, Germany and America also came to visit various tourist spots in Swat.
He said that for the promotion of tourism in Swat, Upper Swat Development Authority is taking concrete steps with the cooperation of district police and district administration and for this purpose more new tourist spots are being introduced in Swat valley.
“Infrastructure and other facilities will be provided at these locations, which will not only boost the tourism of Swat but also provide employment opportunities to the youth at the local level.”he said.
