The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to rebuild 44 state-owned guesthouses in GB under the Green Tourism project.
This initiative is aimed at developing the tourism industry in the region, creating new business opportunities and increasing income.
According to the agreement, Green Travel Company will invest an initial amount of $1,000,000. 3 billion for the modernization of accommodation which has for many years been a burden on the national wealth and of no use to the people. The renovated guesthouse not only boosts the tourism industry but also creates job opportunities for local residents.
The company will use 20% of its annual revenue to promote tourism in GB, and 35% of its annual revenue will be donated to the GB government for provincial development.
This revolutionary step is expected to showcase GB’s natural beauty and cultural heritage to the world and increase the number of tourists to the region.
