WANA: Malik Jameel said that the higher officials of the district administration of South Waziristan Lower (SWL) take notice of the manipulation of funds and monthly pocket money (Kharcha) coming in the name of tribal elders.
Elders said, like other tribal districts, the government should give us our full rights, otherwise we will register a strong protest.
Chief Malik Jameel Wazir and Malik Shehryar Wazir along with other elders held an emergency press conference at District Press Club Wana on Wednesday and expressed their displeasure with the district administration.
That Ahmadzai tribal elders were demanding the establishment of a separate district so that the tribal elders can get the full right of privileges at his doorstep.
But now the DC Lower South Waziristan staff is distributing the
honorary and pocket money fixed to the tribal elders from the British era to half of the elders, which is equal to total injustice and abuse.
On this occasion they said that earlier our DC used to be called South Waziristan that due to the fact that the district account of the District SWL is not open, the Pocket money and honorary money cannot be given to the elders.
Tribal elders said that our DC also used to say that Mehsud tribal elders of Upper Waziristan are getting pocket money and honorary because their account is already open.
They said that now the account of our district has been opened but the district administration SWL is giving us half the pocket money and honorary which is not only unfair but also a place of shame for the administration.
Malik Jameel and Shehryar said that the district administration does not respect tribal Chiefs and elders, where we are not respected, we do not accept that pocket money.
They demanded to take notice of this inappropriate behavior from the provincial authorities, IGFC South KP and Commander SWS Brigade Wana.
They said that the district administration should correct the behavior of Lower South Waziristan otherwise, they will soon be forced to protest strongly.
