ISLAMABAD: Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, vice chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), stated on Monday that youth must be given access to information technology in order to advance quickly both domestically and globally.
At the opening ceremony of the newly built Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) building, he stated that the university could not have continued with its educational program during the COVID-19 pandemic if its entire system had not been digitalized in a timely manner.
Dr. Nasir Mahmood stated that due to digitalization, pupils now have access to online resources and no one else in Pakistan possesses a platform like this. He also added that difficulties are being resolved quickly thanks to contemporary technology.

He claimed that Dr. Zia ul Qayyum’s goal and mission were digitization. He remarked that the former VC should be commended for AIOU’s ability to continue its educational endeavors in spite of the disruption brought on by COVID-19. Chief visitors on the event were Prof. Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, a former Vice-Chancellor of the AIOU, and the Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Dr. Zia thanked the university administration for keeping up the digitization policy efforts and stated that it is important to continue good measures in order to fortify institutions. He stated that the new ICT building should be managed by planning because it is a contemporary facility.
He stated that following digitization, it is critical to give special consideration to the caliber of instruction and course design, especially when it comes to standardizing the texts for associate, BS, undergraduate, and postgraduate diploma programs. Attendees at the ceremony were major officers, deans, and Registrar AIOU, Raja Umar Younis.
