Looking to win the T20 World Cup in 2024, the Indian public seems to want to see their team play more intense international clashes as ticket sales from India have increased six-fold for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
Cricket Australia confirmed the record increase in ticket sales in a press release.
“The excitement surrounding the fierce rivalry between India and Australia has led to a six-fold increase in the number of tickets purchased by fans in India compared to last season,” said Cricket Australia.
In the Boxing Day test, ticket sales to Indian buyers increased tenfold compared to the same period in 2018/19.
Cricket Australia’s Chief Event and Operations Officer Joel Morrison said, “We are delighted to see so many Indian fans coming to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. They can expect a warm welcome here.”

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin with the first Test at the Perth Stadium in Perth, Australia from November 22 to 26.
