LAHORE: Veteran Pakistani stage and television actor Asim Bukhari has died at the age of 76 after a prolonged illness, according to media reports.
Family sources said the senior actor had been suffering from kidney and heart problems and had been hospitalised for the past 15 days before his death in Lahore.
Bukhari was known for his long career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, where he performed in numerous television dramas, stage productions and films. In addition to acting, he also worked as an acting teacher and trained many aspiring performers.

His death prompted tributes from colleagues and fans across the showbiz community, who remembered him as a versatile performer with decades of contribution to the performing arts.
Bukhari is survived by his family, including his son Ajlal Bukhari, who is currently undergoing treatment for gallstones at a hospital in London.
The time and location of the funeral have not yet been announced.
