LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam shared his thoughts on the future of young players Saim Ayub, Azam Khan and Usman Khan in the national team. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Babar spoke highly of Saim Ayub, highlighting his talent and ability to change the game in the first six overs. While Saim has struggled recently, he believes the youngster needs one good round to bounce back.
“Saim is very talented. To change the game in the first six overs is commendable. He is struggling but I feel he only needs one innings to come back. Sometimes you have to give extra time to a special talent like him. I hope he does. Also in the season that will come,” he said.
Babar discusses Usman Khan’s progress, acknowledging the struggles the young player is going through. Babar revealed, Usman has been trying to do well and the goal he has shown is a promising sign.
“Look, you have to give a margin. There is pressure in the Pakistan team. I know Usman has left a lot, so everything will be on his mind. But he gave everything. Look, as a player, every time you make your debut, you will balance your innings after your 2 rounds, but the way he showed it, at the same time, you are not in control, you will perform,” said Babar.
On the theme of Azam Khan, Babar showed his unique playing style and game-changing ability.
He is a game changer. You know he can change the game completely when he stands.”
